Buying a Beef Share

The basics of choosing the right amount of beef for your family.

What is a beef share?

A beef share lets you purchase a portion of a beef animal directly from the ranch. At Onion Creek Ranch, you can choose a Quarter, Half, or Whole Beef Share.

Which beef share is right for my family?

Quarter Beef is a great choice for smaller households, first-time bulk beef buyers, or customers with limited freezer space.

Half Beef is our most popular option and gives you a fully customizable cut sheet.

Whole Beef gives you the largest amount of beef and the most customization.

Compare Beef Shares
How much does each share cost?
Quarter Beef $2,000 total Reserve with a $700 deposit
Half Beef $3,400 total Reserve with a $1,100 deposit
Whole Beef $6,800 total Reserve with a $1,500 deposit
What is included in the price?

Your beef, processing, and vacuum-sealed packaging are included in the total share price.

When will my beef be ready?

We are currently reserving beef for September 2026 delivery. We will contact customers as processing and delivery details are finalized.

MAKE IT YOURS

Cut Sheets & Customization

Learn how your beef can be prepared around the way your family cooks.

Can I customize my beef?

Yes. Half and Whole Beef customers can customize their cut sheet directly through our online builder.

Quarter Beef Shares are curated and are not individually customizable.

What can I customize?

Half and Whole Beef customers can choose options such as:

  • Steak style and thickness
  • Package size
  • Roast size
  • Specialty cuts
  • Ground beef blend
  • Hamburger patties
  • Soup bones
  • Stew meat
  • Extras
I have no idea what to choose. What should I do?

No problem. Click Use Our Recommendations at the top of the Half or Whole Beef builder and we will fill in our Rancher's Pick cut sheet for you.

You can still change anything before placing your order.

Can I change the recommendations?

Absolutely. Our recommendations are only a starting point. Every selection can be changed before you reserve your beef.

Why can't I choose unlimited steaks?

A beef animal only produces a limited amount of each cut. Choosing one cut often affects another cut from the same section of the animal. Some sections can become steaks, roasts, or ground beef, but not all three at the same time.

What happens if two of my selections conflict?

We will contact you before processing to clarify your preferences.
